This is typical “Sultan” behavior. It’s the typical head of a caliphate or a smaller division of the Dar-al-Islam or house of submission. The big head man has pick of the women who live in his realm, and can do what he wants. This is part of the background of my next novel, a reprise of history that is as old as Mad Mo. Read books like “White Gold” by Giles Milton, during the reigns of other sultans in the Maghreb, to see how totally typical Qaddafi’s behavior was. Compared to Moulay Ismail in Morocco 400 years ago, Qaddafi was an amateur and dilettante. Ismail fathered tens of thousands of babies over his half century as the “successful Hitler” of Morocco.
Quite true. This is the normal behavior of a Muslim potentate. That’s what’s behind the whole idea of a harem.
