I never understood why liberal democRATs hated Bush so much when he is perhaps the most liberal Republican to ever occupy the WH.

I'd like to ask Bush or any democrat what's so good about letting 100 million 3rd world immigrants who will vote for socialism/democrats who will turn the USA into a socialist communist state. I'm emailing most of these Congressmen with that question. anyone who is an individual should be against turning the USA into a socialist state.

I've often wondered the same. George W. Bush and Richard Nixon were the two most liberal Republicans of the 20th century, yet they were the ones most hated by liberals, and often misguidedly loved by conservatives.

I suppose the answer is that image and rhetoric trump policy. Both Bush and Nixon talked tough and sounded patriotic, which for both their enemies and their supporters was more important than the socially and economically liberal policies that they actually signed into law (or tried to).
