The taxman is coming after James Gandolfini's heirs. The late "Sopranos" star's will is "a disaster" that could see over $30 million of his estimated $70 million estate go to the government, a top estate lawyer told the Daily News. "It's a nightmare from a tax standpoint," said William Zabel, who reviewed the document at The News' request. The 51-year-old's "big mistake" was leaving 80% of his estate to his sisters and his 9-month-old daughter, Zabel said. That made 80% of the estate subject to "death taxes" of about 55%, and the bill is due in nine months, Zabel said.

Judging by the tenor of those bass turds at the irs the soprano’s heirs will be singing the blues.
And now it is nap time. Catch ya’ll later.

He should have placed it in a trust with them named as beneficiaries...
Then it would have been 0%. It’s what the elites do!
A / B Trust may have doubled the exemption, but even with the numbers now he is way over it. I won't get into it, but I was close to a tangent biz years ago. That kind of net worth he is a whale and use of trust in that level of coin is way out of my league. Charitable giving, maybe some off shore Trust, perhaps, maybe the museum route like Buffet, Leno and Gates to hide some of it, but again above my pay grade.
No problem, just call one of Rush’s sponsors, Tax Resolution Services, and they will have the bill down to $30K real quickly.
Plan all of your death tax avoidance strategies you want, but the larger issue here is that the person who passed away, and their heirs, should NEVER have to put up with this shit in the first place! Plenty of tax industry people here on FR will get pissed of because of that comment, but the government has no right to profit from death. The last thing we need to do is give the IRS any new ideas on collecting revenue.
After all, it is their “fair share.”

9 months and to think he could have been aborted a

Just to be fair, don’t most of our vacations run close to $20,000,000 per day? It costs a lot to load up the family vehicle and drive to the Dells.
