Hilarious Skype Bombing Brings Halt To Witness Testimony In George Zimmerman Trial
The Smoking Gun ^ | 7-3-2013 | TSG

As a witness in the George Zimmerman murder trial testified this morning via Skype, pranksters watching the case bombarded the man’s account with calls, forcing the judge to interrupt the man’s testimony.

As seen in the above video, Gordon Scott Pleasants, a criminal justice professor at Seminole State College, was testifying about Zimmerman taking a criminal investigation course when the Skype meltdown occurred.

Pleasants, who was in Colorado, was about two minutes into his testimony when a steady barrage of incoming call boxes began popping up on the Skype screen. Each call was accompanied by a loud “pinging” sound.

“I gotta tell you, there’s now a really good chance that we’re being toyed with,” remarked Zimmerman lawyer Mark O’Mara (who can be seen alongside prosecutor Richard Mantei in the Skype window’s bottom right corner).

At one point, four separate incoming call boxes were tiled on the screen, covering Pleasants from view. As a prosecution staffer tried desperately to minimize the boxes, Judge Debra Nelson ordered lawyers to “hang up the phone.” She added, “I don’t want those up on the screen.”

Pleasants eventually resumed his testimony via a cell phone connection.

Capture all screen names used in the Skype-bomb, look up their owners, and prosecute for obstruction of justice.

Those pranksters better hope the judge doesn’t slap them with contempt of court!

Can any of these calls be traced and the callers charged with “obstruction of justice”? I’ll bet they were all commie-libs.

I think that’s silly. It’s the prosecution’s fault for not using the DO NOT DISTURB option.

My bet is the court or the prosecutor will do something about it.

Doubtful. All the skype-bombers have to do is change information on their accounts. Many of these guys are behind proxies and PVNs.

One Skype pop up looked like a blonde with some item in her mouth I can only hope was a banana or a popsicle.

You think the photos of them associated with the accounts are fake, too? Law enforcement is doing amazing things with facial recognition searches these days . . .

Welcome back my friends to the show that never ends
We’re so glad you could attend
Come inside! Come inside!
There behind a glass is a real blade of grass
Be careful as you pass.
Move along! Move along!

Come inside, the show’s about to start
Guaranteed to blow your head apart
Rest assured you’ll get your money’s worth
The greatest show in Heaven, Hell or Earth.
You’ve got to see the show, it’s a dynamo.
You’ve got to see the show, it’s rock and roll ....

Right before your eyes, we pull laughter from the skies
And he laughs until he cries, then he dies, then he dies
Come inside the show’s about to start, guaranteed to blow your head apart
You’ve got to see the show, it’s a dynamo
You’ve got to see the show, it’s rock and roll...

Soon the Gypsy Queen in a glaze of Vaseline
Will perform on guillotine
What a scene! What a scene!
Next upon the stand will you please extend a hand
To Alexander’s Ragtime Band
Dixieland, Dixieland!
Roll up! Roll up! Roll up!
See the show!

Performing on a stool we’ve a sight to make you drool
Seven virgins and a mule
Keep it cool. Keep it cool.
We would like it to be known the exhibits that were shown
Were exclusively our own,
All our own. All our own.
Come and see the show! Come and see the show! Come and see the show!
See the show!

Obstruction of Justice - there’s a catch all hook.

There are so many laws on the books that if prosecutors wanted to bag you they could find a dozen laws you’ve broken in the past week. Me too.

Lol, I think any troller that can identify a skype account and connect in less that 2-3 minutes after it’s initiated has probably searched “Guy” on google and u/led the first pic as an avatar. I don’t think any of these guys used their own account.

The prosecution is making a mockery of the judicial system.

They are responsible for proferring humiliating Skype testimony that could easily have been prevented by simply bringing the witness to court.

“Call in the feds because some goofs called some moron?”

Law enforcement takes this stuff — interrupting judicial proceedings — pretty seriously, and simply may want to set a precedent.
