After departing from Russia the plane of Bolivian President Evo Morales was forced to landing in Austria Wednesday morning over suspicions that NSA whistleblower Edward Snowden was on board, a claim Bolivian authorities denied.
Snowden had requested asylum from Bolivia, which has yet to answer; he also petitioned Austria but was rejected. Reports indicated the plane was hindered in navigating Western Europe as France and Portugal would not allow the La Paz-bound plane to enter their airspace.
What a sad and pathetic spectacle we’ve become.
Below is a list of countries comments on Snowdens asylum requests:
Austria: His request is not valid, because applicants must be in Austria and submit their applications in person.
Bolivia: No response yet.
Brazil: No response yet.
China: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs said Tuesday it had no information to offer on Snowdens case.
Cuba: No response yet.
Ecuador: The South American country has said that its considering Snowdens request but that he needs to reach its territory.
Finland: No response yet.
France: No response yet.
Germany: No response yet.
Iceland: Officials have said asylum seekers need to be in Icelandic territory in order to apply.
India: Ministry of External Affairs spokesman Syed Akbaruddin said Tuesday that India will deny the request.
Ireland: No response yet.
Italy: No response yet.
The Netherlands: No response yet.
Nicaragua: No response yet.
Norway: The country confirms the receipt of his request, but usually, asylum seekers must be in the country already to be allowed to apply. The Ministry of Justice is considering whether or not to process his application.
Poland: Snowdens request for asylum doesnt fulfill requirements, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said Tuesday.
Russia: Snowden has withdrawn his request for permission to stay in Russia, Kremlin spokesman Peskov said Tuesday, according to the news agency RIA Novosti.
Spain: The country is not reviewing Snowdens request because it must be made from within or on its borders, a Foreign Ministry spokeswoman said.
Switzerland: No response yet.
Venezuela: We havent been asked for help, but when he asks, he will have an answer, President Nicolas Maduro said Tuesday.
“What a sad and pathetic spectacle weve become.”
Unfortunately, only half of American voters deserve it.
he also petitioned Austria but was rejected.
Why the hell are the other threads about this being yanked?
???????????
So you're arguing that the US should adopt a policy of allowing any citizen who steals military secrets and passes them on to foreign powers to do whatever they want and go wherever they please?
To the contrary, that would be sad and pathetic.
We need to overthrow the current administration before we lose everything.
It's probably some grand conspiracy by the Trilateral Commission and the Pentavirate to conceal the truth.
That's the only possible explanation.
The problem here is that Snowden is making the US government and now a good chunk of the Western governments look like idiots with his “catch me if you can” routine.
I mean, what’s worse than forcing down the official aircraft of a legitimate head of state on the suspicion that Snowden is on board?
Doing it, and having Snowen NOT be onboard.
Perhaps Obdinga will seek asylum in South Africa and not come home.

The US gov is making US government and now a good chunk of the Western governments look like idiots, fixed.
My prayers would be answered if it were to happen that Zero decides to stay in Africa!
I asked that my thread be removed since it was a duplicate.
I don’t have any problem with what he did at all. I have a problem with what America has done, and what America has become.
What military secrets? Do you have a list?
I m not so sure he’s passed on military secrets to foreign powers. The Obama administration would obviously say this to the media and have them desiminate it to smear his reputation and rattle the cages of the liberals and make them hate himwhich is kind of ironic because almost all havkers are usually liberal. Snowden looks intelligent enough to know a bullet has his name on it if he does. I think his primary goal was to alert the American people to the fact that they are being spied on by their own government to a much higher degree than originally thought.
What if several countries forced AF1 down over suspicions of whatever? Think that’d go over?
