Congress need to just institute the “Fair Tax”, thereby removing ALL federal benefits for ALL married couples, and the SCOTUS decision would be for naught.
The quickest way to stop a tug of war is for one side to let go of the rope.
That will solve nothing. This is a moral problem, not financial.
