The moral side of it has to do with individuals, not government. The SCOTUS ruling was about extending federal benefits to those gays in states where gay marriage has been “legalized”.
Insofar as liberals don’t do anything without someone else’s money involved, removing the marital tax benefit would affect it.
My wife and I are not any less married because of the lavender lobby. We’ve been married for almost 40 years, and that is the morality of it. The government cannot legislate or regulate morality except in one of two ways...criminalize it, or control it with the tax code.
Churches shiver in their pews for fear of losing their tax exemption should they speak up about the government. They gay lobby is forcing their hand by seeking federal approval of their behavior. That “approval” has just been implied by the govt via the SCOTUS ruling.
So long as the gays can benefit from our tax dollars, the more they will demand.
The moral side is whether or not society accepts it, not the govt. the govt is just shoring up their voter base, as power is what this is about.

That is what is going to make the country fall, because ultimately it is about morals. Simply instituting a tax regime change will not cause a return to morality, and it certainly will not prevent a country’s collapse.
