That may have been true then, but won't hold into the future.

He didn't totally lose the base because he was seen as the lesser of 2 evils. His second term was a disaster and he paved the way for "The W0n". In fact, W and McCain probably did as much damage to the R brand as BH0.

The problem is not the likes of Rubio, Ryan, McCain, or Bush, its the painfully naive GOP base that keeps voting for these creeps.
