I have been so very impressed by Trey Gowdy and do note that’s he’s been on the air waves of late. what with Rubio taking a fall the pubs gotta put someone out there to appeal to us Teabagger heathans.

So while I like the guy, they’ll soon enough shut him up and shut him down.

That is really well said, bray.

What the Liberals and race hustlers have done to this country is appalling.

What they have done to the negro community is downright criminal!

I would never refer to a black person by the N word, however, I was not born last night.

####

Ditto! And my mother told me that this was a very ugly, hurtful word when I learned it at the age of three from older girls whose family came from Southern Maryland. I never used it again.

Remember: “eeny, meeny, money, mo, catch a....”

We said “tiger” in that rhyme, after my mother told me about the other word.

Aw come on Kabar, give Trey some slack.

For now the border issue is the big one. I understand what you’re saying, God knows there’s incentives in that bill to cost non-Hispanics their careers.

But the border issue is the one resonating on all of across the fruited plains. We understand such as fences and borders.

If Gowdy had gone on about much besides the borders he’d have caused glazed eyes across the fruited plains.

I like Gowdy but they’ll change him like they changed Rubion.

Watching Gowdy this morning, I don't see him making the strong arguments against this very flawed bill. During the next decade it brings in 33 million more immigrants, which is more than this country has brought it during the past 40 years. And it doubles the guest worker programs, increasing them by 1.6 million the first year and 600,000 every year thereafter.

At the same time, we have 22 million Americans unemployed or underemployed. Gowdy fails to mention them. Both parties have abandoned the American worker. The only question is how much will the Reps in the House give away to get the increase in guest workers pushed by their corporate masters.

Okay, we’re past comment 50-below a few posts with my story. If not interested, scroll on by.

Folks, I’ve been working on this project for all of June now. It’s been a whirlwind but they’ve moved in so I can tell the story.

The lady two houses down from me died a year or so ago.

She was only in her 40’s and yes I knew her. I didn’t like her but perhaps I shouldn’t speak ill of the dead. She, and her sister, were very nasty people, I don’t know why, must be a family thing.

Her name was...I’ll call her Linda. Linda had a bunch of dogs, in fact she raised and showed show dogs, had three and a little bichon frise.

Some of you old-timers might remember a thread here in the past, had to be a couple of years ago, in which I waxed on about my travails about the dogs in my neighborhood running loose and attacking MY dog. MY dog, which was on a public street, tethered with shoulder harness and leash, attacked by loose dogs, a pomeranian and a cocker spaniel. Both dogs lived through the attacks though one lost an eyeball and the other was in really bad shape. My dog is a Belgian Malinois. She did not want to kill those dogs, else she would have, handily. She wanted to protect bother herself and in one case me and my granddaughter. Dog police were called, my dog was found innocent, loose dogs given fines.

My dog was innocent is what I’m saying here but because every dog wants to show how big and brave it is by attacking my big dog, I stopped taking her on the streets, I now exercise in my backyard.

So one day, after the pomeranian and cocker, Linda’s bichon frise runs out of its house (the one I now own….more on this later) and started running towards me and the Belgian Malinois. I began screaming, dear Lord don’t let this cuter than cute little dog come out and attack my dog, Jo-Ann -my dog- would chew her up and spit her out.

All Jo-Ann did was growl at the little white dog running towards her. Immediately the little dog laid down, rolled over and showed her belly. This is a dog thing, I’m sure most of you know, to show their vulnerability, that they are not on the attack. That pomeranian and cocker should have done the same thing.

Jo-Ann did not touch or harm a hair on that Bichon Frise’s head. Linda retrieved her dog and nobody was hurt.

I got myself so upset over this I took Jo-Ann home and went back to Linda’s house to make sure the little Bichon was ok.

Linda was cordial to me, the little dog was fine. I did quite love Linda’s show dogs as well and often went over and visited them.

The NEXT DAY, Linda sends me a handwritten letter, puts it in my mailbox.

She was trying to show me how well she writes. I get this a lot, people sending me tomes trying to illustrate that they write as well as I do. In this neighborhood this is particularly true cause every year we have a community yard sale during which I sell my books, yes I do, sit right out and sell them and sign them.

So I’m used to people showing me how well they write and Linda, may she rest in peace, pens me a tome telling me how I ought to take my dog to a special school to teach her how to behave.

I still have that letter, may her mean soul rest in peace.

SAY WHAT?

Now you know I am going to heaven, even putting in a reservation for sainthood-more on that another time. But I never did respond to that exercise in stupidity in Linda’s letter because a)MY DOG LAID NOT A FANG ON HER BICHON! Also, she was attacked in all three cases, BY LOOSE DOGS.

Whatever, whatever, I didn’t go over and tell her that a)she don’t write as well as me and b)go to hell.

I didn’t do that. Thank me very much. I just let Linda think she was cool and wise on all things dog as she chainsmoked her way to lung cancer which took her way before her time.

(to be continued)

I never paid much attention to Linda after that. She was married at the time of the Bichon incident, a really nice guy who I really liked. Well he left her and I’m not surprised.

All alone that woman had to fight cancer. She put a ramp in her garage so she could live there with a wheelchair, this in the home I now own.

Linda had no children, her husband left her cold, she had one nasty sister.

I don’t like the sister either.

I only met the sister once. It was during an aforementioned community yard sale. Judy-Linda’s sister- was selling a computer and I needed one. She wanted $300 for it and I was willing to buy it. But who has this much cash on them? Judy should have been prepared for a check during a yard sale. Remember, she was selling it in a neighborhood where her sister lived for God’s sake.

It wasn’t so much that Judy refused my check, it was how nasty she was. “I’d rather take this computer home than give it to somebody with a bad check,” I heard her say as I walked away from a sale with my checkbook in hand.

Attitude. Them two had attitude in spades.

I did see Linda one more time before she died, really sad. I was in Walmart downy beach area. Me, daughter and granddaughter were in line checking out and I hear a loud pleasant call…”Hi Pat!” I look and it’s the Walmart cashier waving at me in line. I had no idea who this was.

“It’s me, Linda! I used to live across the street from you!”

That’s what I thought she said and, indeed, I do remember her. At the time she looked healthy and in good spirits. I had a bunch of stuff to buy, to split between me and daughter. Linda assured me she could handle it and she did a smack job of checking us out. She was busy and we didn’t get to chat much but I did think it odd that she “used” to live next door to me. For all I knew she should still be there now. ?

Sometime after that Linda died. How it came down and the story of the ramp and Walmart still allude me. My neighbors to my left knew Linda and her sister well and they are the ones who were showing my house. It was THIS neighbor who told me about Linda’s house for sale. “It has a beautiful kitchen but only has one bathroom,” my neighbor told me.

(to be continued)

Without reading any comments or watching the show, my bet is Ben Jealous is on the tube to foment racial anger over the Zimmerman trial. And, the networks, all of them, will be complicit if anything happens down here!!!!

I shrugged off my neighbor’s tale of Linda’s house. I didn’t much care one way or the other.

Then, one Friday morning I was sitting on my front porch. I chanced to turn around and look at Linda’s house. All of a sudden, clear as the morning sun, the thought “I AM GOING TO BUY THAT HOUSE” went through my mind.

And so I did!

In the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Ghost, what a job! I paid for most of it via a line of credit on my home and took the rest out of the savings my beloved deceased husband and I saved. Next year I have to pay over ten grand in taxes as this came from a 401K of all untaxed money. I could spit and hiss for the taxes but then I’m spoiled. I haven’t paid any taxes for so many years and I RESENT having to pay them.

There’s a story in that sentiment somewhere.

I also applied for a reverse mortgage and it’s going to go through.

Now there’s problems with reverse mortgages. Well not problems, but if I were to advise someone I know all the pitfalls. For me a reverse mortgage was perfect. My home I live in now is paid for. I will get enough money to pay off that line of credit used to purchase daughter’s new home and will have NO MORTGAGE PAYMENTS on either my house or my daughter’s house. I will live the rest of my years in THIS house, which I love, and daughter will live across the street from me.

It’s a beautiful house, maybe not for everybody but I love it. First, the kitchen.

Oh yeah, I know all about this new kitchen. For on the day of the Bichon incident the contractors were then rebuilding that kitchen. Linda spent some $50K fixing up that kitchen and it is, folks, it is gorgeous. Granite countertops that HGTV would love, a beautiful island, up to date appliances throughout the home, way more modern than mind. Gorgeous kitchen and for daughter, husband and granddaughter, that kitchen alone would be where they could spend all their hours.

Three bedrooms and yes, only one bath. Most homes today at least have an extra half bath but trust that daughter does not care about one bathroom and it is a nice one. It has a garage with built in craftsman shelves, a HUGE back yard and guess what?

A COMPLETE DOG KENNEL IN THE BACK YARD!! Including an outdoor shower!

A dog kennel would not appeal to many buyers but in a bit of serendipity….well first I LOVE dogs. So does daughter and son-in-law’s brother RAISES DOGS TO SELL!

Indeed we have plans to breed dogs, hey I’ll help. This is perfect for us!

Daughter and son-in-law moved in yesterday and still, STILL, it is great. They are the happiest people in the world. Also, need I add, that my only relative I have will not live next to me, not two hours away in that awful state of Merryland where they are taxing those people out of existence. Indeed the tolls for the Bay Bridge went up to $6 a pass. Those legislators pass those things la-di-da but that little trick was devistating to daughter, who uses that bridge a lot, often to get husband to and from work. THEY TAX THE POOR FOLKS AND THE POOR DON’T REALIZE IT!

We are settling next week and hey, I did it! I got the money and dealt with the bureaucrats. Daughter got occupancy cause she had to move this weekend as she closed her apartment.

I am very excited about this, me and daughter with our own houses. She can even use my Comcast WIFI IN HER HOUSE! How cool is that?

We will benefit from economies of scale, be close to each other when we need, granddaughter, God bless my precious most important thing in the world to me, will be able, in about two hops and a skip, come see Mom-Mom.

Jo-Ann’s happy about it too, we took her over on the leash. She loves daughter, considers her her sister.

Wish me luck.

I quit playing the race game a long time ago. For a while you didn’t know what to call Blacks so I call Blacks, Black, Indians, Indians and Broads, Broads. No more confusion.

Kabar....I clicked on your link to read but was stopped in surprise.

Did you know I was born.....PAT MCLAUGHLIN!

Could we be related? My relatives came over before the Mayflower and fought in the Revolutionary War. Cousin wrote a book about it call “McLaughlin’s Mountain”.

All the McLaughlins have bad hearts, including me who had a bypass 6 years ago.

Watch your heart Kabar!

Lookit, this immigration thing is another piece of crap they are cramming down our throats. If we allow them to do it we deserve what we get.

I’m through with pointing out the truth. Mike, you carry on. americans don’t know what’s coming at them.

“Maybe I sound nuts, but if Sarah moves to another party, I'm going with her. Anything to get away from those Blue Blood Republicans who are more part of the political elite than any kind of conservative. I think Sarah would peel away millions of discontented Republicans if she threw down the gauntlet.”

Me sentiments exactly!

And Rush can spare us his: “You know, third parties never work, we must rebuild the GOP...blah...bah...blah” Sorry Rush, this strategy has gotten us nowhere. I voted for my last RINO this past election. I'm to the point where I don't even want to be associated with the “Stupid Party” any longer. I've had enough!

Ryan, Rubio, McCain, Graham are listening to someone -- the political consultant class -- I assume, who sell them garbage.

Aside from the elected idiots themselves, I want to know who's pulling strings behind closed doors. Grover Norquist ? Steve Smith, Nicole Wallace, the bearded, spectacled one whose name escapes me but we see on MTP occasionally ?....just wondering who's listening to whom.
