If he’s nefarious rather than just naive, he will switch. He will do so shortly before the elections and for the stated reason that “the GOP is hostile toward people of color,” or some other such rot. I think he got rolled by the RINOs and Rats, actually bought into the idea that they were looking for a way to “solve the problem.” But we will see in a year or so.
I think he’s a fellow traveler and always has been, like the Bushes, which is how he rose in FL the way he did.
Such assets, once in the GOP tend to stay there—unless they’ve totally worn out their welcome before their ambitions are satisfied.
