Sadly I agree.

My kids who travel all over the world felt Egypt was a better place than some of the major European cities. It proved to be a correct assessment. Although the rest of the family objected to the trip. It was fine at that time.

I am glad I went when I did. I fear it will collapse into a failed state. Very sad.

I was in Egypt in 1981 and 1983. It is fascinating and it made me swear to stay clear of traveling to third world nations. I saw things (fungi blossoming on cracks in toilet seats, sheets on beds not changed since WWII) there while staying at minus 15 Star hotels that you would not encounter unless in bio-chem testing lab, amazing and repulsive.
