Back in the days of Free Enterprise, Prosperity, and Low Unemployment, Businesses used to voluntarily pay a portion of an employee’s Health Care Insurance. This was considered a “Benefit”, and it was used as an inducement to attract the best and brightest (Salary + Benefits=Total Compensation Package). Often, a prospective employee was given a choice between two or more “Plans”, HMO’s, Blue Cross, PPO’s, etc) and could choose a plan that best fit the needs of their family. The important thing was that the Company offered a Plan as a way to attract People to the job, and keep people who were good workers. It was voluntary, and it WORKED.

Of course, leftists don’t like free enterprise systems that WORK. They have to “fix” them.

So ObamaCare isn’t about health care? It’s about BIG business making MORE money? It’s always about the money.

Virtually everyone who is working in France is working as a temp. You don’t dare hire anyone full-time in a country where the mandatory benefits cost more than the base pay, and you are never, ever allowed to fire them.

One of the biggest temp agencies in the world is Randstad, which is Dutch. Small wonder.

Just think what that amnesty bill will do to the job pool for the temp agencies.

They'll get all the Americans who the companies fire. (When they hire the wetbacks and ex-illegals who CAN work 40+ hours without healthcare.)

Since being laid off in 2009 (anyone remember what happened that year?), I’ve bounced from one contract job to another. “Permanent” positions are few and far between in my industry. I put “permanent” in quotes because a friend of mine was laid off from three different permanent positions in the last year.

Fortunately, I was graced to have started a side business in 2007, which may soon be self-sustaining. Thank God. It’s an absolute disaster out there.

Can't wait to see what happens to productivity when a large fraction (maybe even a majority) of workers are temps.

Business owners, it might sound like a good deal to hire part-time, temp workers, but get ready for endless headaches. Because of lack of experience and no company loyalty, work won't get done unless you or a trusted, full-time manager is there to supervise.

Sure, you can easily get rid of slackers, but then you get to start over training new ones.
