I can remember a time in which I’d be outraged at the idea of American kids joining al-Qaeda. I guess I’ve just grown jaded to it all.

Generally speaking and in my opinion...
Most of the martyrs don’t die alone; they take others down with them.
Also, if they aren’t wanted overseas by the other jihadis; they don’t mind planning and plotting to do something here.
To me, age doesn’t matter — it’s their intentions and their intense focus.
