Recently immunized people are not more apt to develop Guillain-Barre syndrome
Shortly after getting a vaccination, people are no more likely to develop a dangerous nerve-damaging condition called Guillain-Barré syndrome, or GBS, than they are at other times, a new analysis finds.
Roger Baxter of Kaiser Permanente Northern California in Oakland, and his colleagues reviewed medical records from 1994 to 2006 of more than 3 million Kaiser members and found 415 diagnoses of GBS. Only 25 of these people had received any vaccine in the six weeks prior to being diagnosed with the condition. None were children. Analyses showed that people were no more likely to develop GBS during those six weeks than they were 1.5 to 9 months following a vaccination, the researchers report in the July 15 Clinical Infectious Diseases...

I do not for a second trust Kaiser. Kaiser has been socialized medicine since the 80s.
Sounds like someone is protecting the health care industry from lawsuits. Truth be damned.
Look at GBS after Gardacil
Also they are comparing 6 weeks after a vaccine to 2.5-9 months after a vaccine. What about compared to people who didn't get a vaccine at all?
My guess is it takes longer than 6 weeks to diagnose GBS.

FReepmail me if you want on or off my combined microbiology/immunology ping list.
Ping...(I wonder how many kids got a pain reliever afterwards to reduce fever...)
Get another doc and sue the first one. Another name for GuillainBarré syndrome is ascending paralysis. It becomes rather obvious when the patient is on a ventilator after a progressively worsening weakness.
try the 60’s
If that’s true then nothing they have to say is of any value.
(Not a doctor, but I play one on FR)
“I do not for a second trust Kaiser. Kaiser has been socialized medicine since the 80s”
I’d be leery of the CDC, too.
My daughter was diagnosed with dystonia ( a movement disorder very similar to parkinson’s.). Her symptoms in her left hand started a week after she got a flu vaccine.
Her symptoms stabilized. Lacst month, she cut her foot and they gave her a tetanus shot. A week later, the dystonia got a lot worse and now she is having symptoms in her left foot.
I’m not saying the vaccines caused the dystonia, but I definitely think they make it worse.
I would look at ‘what else’ did she ‘get’ with what you thought or were told was the tetanus shot. Its hard to get tetanus by itself. Usually office stocks have it paired with one or two other drugs.
My 9 year neice contracted GBS this year after a flu shot. Two neurosurgeons at the Dallas Children Hospital says the cause is the flu shot.
She’s in a wheelchair, sometimes must use a respirator. She was active, a dancer, softball player before
]
The flu shots this year had a new ingredient, GMO something or the other.
it’s scary as all get out!
Kaiser is about as truthful regarding real health issues as Monsanto is regarding research on GMO’s and neo-nicotinoids and their effects on animals and humans. See the Boston Globe Magazine Article from6/23/13

Thanks for the ping!
