How do they propose to do this “research”? Voluntary questionnaire or mandatory thing from Census Bureau?
IRS and NSA data?
Doctors/Medical and Social Services...and maybe the IRS/NSA.
They are not going to study the good guys who lock up their guns, they will study the Obamaphone people as they apply for their benefits/food stamps/medical etc.
That is where the “stats” will come from and the new “rules” will be based on that info, not on the responsible gun owner.
But, I can see the IRS holding up your tax processing if you are a gun owner-unless you fill out the gun questionnaire.
Regardless, I intend to tell them it isn't any of their business.
Deflect, distract, dissuade, and just don't give them an answer they can construe as a lie. Be evasive, remember that appointment, get a group of friends together who will all call you in five minute intervals for an hour or two if they stop by --one text to get things rolling and do the same for each other. (Oops, sorry, I have to take this call!--then talk about the weather.). Just don't let them in. Make them stand in the hall or on the steps. Make getting anything approaching an answer out of you a real pain in the butt, and then don't tell them anything.
They don't NEED to know.
