I don’t think we had much choice but to pass Prop 8. It was looking more and more like cities and then the state would buy in. We hoped to pre-empitvely put an end to that. So we did what we’re supposed to, we won, and the courts nullified it. That’s a great big screw you to the Citizens.

Drop that government and marriage thing, all government has always been a part of marriage.
Marriage was never just whatever individuals said it was at their whim.
