Skip to comments.Rubio: You can't compare immigration reform to ObamaCare
Posted on 06/26/2013 6:42:13 AM PDT by jimbo123
The immigration reform proposal backed by a bipartisan group of senators can't be compared to President Obama's healthcare reform law, said Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.), one of senators that introduced the proposal argued Tuesday.
"First of all, ObamaCare, you can't compare the two," Rubio said in an interview on "The Michael Medved Show."

This guy just gets worse and worse.
Why the hell not?
Lets call him “Fidel Rubio”
This Amnesty bill is even worse than Obamacare, 1200 pages of pure evil.
Tell congressmen we dont want ANY bill passed, no matter what they promise. This bill is Amnesty for 30 million illegals, and a 1200 page bill that brings in 80 million 3rd world immigrants. The bill will destroy the U.S. and will turn the USA into a socialist state as is the democrats/Obamas plan.

Call all remaining GOP members of the US Congress to back the efforts of those fighting back.
Call and say I am calling to ask Congress member ___________ to support Michele Bachman, Steve King, and Louie Gohmerts effort to demand that Speaker John Boehner stop trying to help Obama and the Democrats pass amnesty for illegal aliens. Please sign their petition to require the Speaker to honor the Hastert Rule! If the Senate passes an amnesty for illegal aliens, it will be important that the House refuses to pass any immigration legislation in 2013! Stop the amnesty legislation!

ObamaCare/Amnesty. Of course you can’t compare them. One train is headed SOUTH and one is headed NORTH on the same track. It’s about to get very, very ugly.
sure sounds like an obstinate sellout.
I love it when a Senator tells me what to do. /sarcasm
To the extent that the contents of the legislation would not be fully known until after it passes, yes you bloody well can.
Another republican with potential that turns out to be a democrat’s fool. Wonderful.
And it shall be known throughout the land as the Rubio Amnesty!
0bamaCare ruined 20% of America.
Amnesty will ruin 100% of America.
Welcome to the USSA.
Instruction from the ruling class.
Yes, we can. They’re trying to force passage and nobody knows entirely what is in it. Sounds like Obamacare to me.
Two turds in the same bowl, Marco. Sure we can.
Because it is exactly like that bill with immediate amnesty for all and with grand promises and in truth lies offering to reduce the flood of immigrants from the borders.
McRubio, the new generation backstabbing RINO.
America is the only country on the planet, with this stupid lack of border enforcement.
Latin American countries don’t do this.
ENFORCE THE LAW.
mario, how about you repatriate to Cuba
Somebody better explain the First Law of Holes to Señator Rubio.
Who is he to tell us what we can and can’t compare?
Thousand page bill, amendment tree filled, rushing it through just before a holiday. No, I guess you can’t compare immigration reform to Obamacare.
Let me guess, Medved let him off easy.
Yup. Make it up as you go bills. Only it ends up being a blank check. Also, it provides cover for all who voted for it because the stuff that might sink them politically wasn’t even mentioned in the bill and only added later.
Just what exactly was in that water Marco RINObio drank?
Well, you are right. They have totally different names:
0bamacare on the one hand, and Rubiamesty on the other.
Both of them are statist krap that we don’t want.
“Rubio said the federal government has no business in healthcare but it does need to participate in immigration laws.”
How ‘bout enforcing the laws that are ALREADY ON THE BOOKS, you dunce.
Lets call him Fidel Rubio
Rubio has contracted the deadly Rivera-Williams syndrome.
Like Geraldo Rivera and Juan Williams, whenever the subject matter touches on race, ethnicity or illegal immigration, Rubio loses all perspective and becomes unable to make an informed, fact based judgment.
I can compare immigration reform with Obamacare.
Obamacare is more intrusive govt. in that thou shalt buy health insurance and thou shalt comply with numerous govt. mandates.
A more liberal immigration system is about a less intrusive govt. where people immigrate easily with less govt. intrusion.
However, the bottom line is the people of the USA have a better country than most others and the people of the USA want to keep the others out. I’ve got mine and the rest of the world needs to solve its own problems.
The people who wish to come to the USA are saying “Mr. American, tear down these walls.”
While the people of the USA are saying, “We want a new Iron Curtain to keep the heathens out.”
Frankly, it is ok to be selfish. Frankly I am a top 5% and I am not giving much to charity because I like being a top 5% and am looking to retire soon.
But lets be honest about this debate.
I think it’s time for Rubio to STFU!
He’s just nutz.
What's not to compare?
One should not compare a liberal t*rd with dog t*rd.
It’s all of a piece leading to the destruction of the United States.
Rubio is a fool.
Marco Rubio clearly has some very tall challenges set before him. In simple terms, he was cozened and beguiled by Chuck Schumer, with a mixture of false promises and perhaps some flattery on his good manners and pleasing image. Then Chuck just plain blindsided the young Senator, in an almost textbook example of how even the most idealistic of newcomers can be compromised, and yes, corrupted by trying to fit into the “good-ol’-boy” network.
The technique is known as “getting to yes”. Start off with something you know the target is fully in agreement, and get the response of “yes” with every progression through the various degrees of moving to the eventual position desired. By cutting this into small enough pieces, and reassuring the target that certainly he has it right now, eventually the target ends up at least sideways of the original position, if not altogether reversed. And the target just sits there, asking himself, “How the hell did this happen?” The target is then unable to adequately explain how the conversion became somehow irreversible.
It is entirely possible that Senator Rubio could shake off this assault on his principles and good sense, but at the moment, we cannot count on this happening spontaneously. By the same degrees of step-by-step getting back to “no”, the course correction is a probable outcome, but by no means certain. Opposition research on the Rubio family, at some level, can still be used against the future deliberations that Senator Rubio may engage in, but when exposed beforehand, much of its venom is drained before it can have an effect.
And you may be sure, all these steps have been plotted out well in advance.
I'll see your FUMR and raise a STFU!
So Rubio is a victim? I don’t hear him crying “rape!”
You ain’t gonna tell me what I can and cannot do, you stupid little traitorous putz.
>I dont hear him crying “rape!”<
And neither does the young lady that was sweet-talked into a compromising position. No actual physical compelling force was used, the participant was in agreement to a point WAY beyond going back, and while there is the feeling of being cheap and used the following day, still it APPEARED to be with consent. Is crying “Rape!” meaningful then?
Or do you not see the conundrum here?
I started out thinking he was just a poser, then a poser who was outed, then maybe he was being blackmailed and had to do as told.
At this point, I have no idea what to make of Marco Rubio, just make it go away! ASAP, before it does more damage.
Hmmm, thousand plus page bills that no one knows what’s in them, goodies for everyone in exchange for votes, it’s going to cause misery to millions of hard working Americans and Harry Reid is going to make sure it passes through reconciliation.
Only difference I see is Obamacare passed the house after the Rats bought off some Republicans. This time Boehner will sell out the Republicans.
no, it’s too sublime for me. in your example, there is no victim, only a consenting individual.
