All I know is that I bought the last two boxes of my favorite 30-06 load today simply because they were there.

I picked up a box of .22 mag today at $15.99. I think thats it for me til the prices come down. Mr. GG2 got the last two boxes of .40 cal at Wally World the other day. Its hard to stop. :-)

That simple sentence describes the entire problem. The current ammo shortage is not due to government purchases or any of the other conspiracy theories promulgated by kooks that have more spare money than common sense.

The National Shooting Sports Foundation, that monitors such matters, reported yesterday that ammunition imported into the USA during April exceeded that exported by 248 million rounds. For the low information folks, that is 1/4 Billion rounds! In just one month!

We have met the enemy. A lot of them post right here on this forum.
