Here comes the great Obamacare sales pitch.

Enroll America, a group dedicated to helping the administration sell the nation on Obamacare, is planning to make their pitch of encouraging Americans to sign up in schools, churches, and even personal cellular phones.

The nonprofit group with ties to the president's team is poised to become the president's unofficial Obamacare marketing team, announcing this week that it will put its message in every corner of American life.

Its new campaign is called "Get Covered America," and the aim is to provide an easily understood set of reasons and directions to Americans who either don't have health insurance or have inadequate coverage to sign up.

"Get Covered America will engage you at your churches, schools and community events," said Enroll America President Anne Filipic in a YouTube video pitch announcing the plan.

"You'll hear from us on your televisions and radios, on your computers and smart phones and in your mailboxes too," she added.....

This will be an interesting test case to either prove or disprove the hypothesis that your average American is not particularly skilled in critical thinking.

The Wookie’s dietary requirements were not well reveived in our town. The football players had to make a dash to the DQ before practice.

I heard more than I wanted in a replay of his screed from Berlin last week. I don’t really think there’s much chance I could stomach hearing what he has planned for us’ns tomorrow. Sounds like I need to be off grid until he S’sTFU tomorrow. How to kill and economy (some more) in an easy to understand(?) 40 pound package. No need to pass it since the supremes already said the epa can control the weather.(?)

He is going to have every Citizen in this nation calling for an adoption of the Guillotine if he keeps this up. And they’ll demand it be tested on him first.

When commercials start coming through on my phone, I’m going to blister AT&T for allowing it.

Enroll America is a nonpartisan 501(c)(3) organization whose mission is to maximize the number of uninsured Americans who enroll in health coverage made available by the Affordable Care Act.

Ha. They had better not do anything political ... or the IRS will get right after them, right?

The government controls all telecommunications and always has, since the telegraph was invented.

The term “non-profit” does not mean that the employees of the firm in question can’t make mega-dollars in salary or commissions. It simply means any excess revenue is disposed of, sort of like Obama does with our money.

Thanks 2ndDivisionVet. There was something else though - an added switch or whatever...just can’t think what it was obviously not that important.

Geez! We just got rid of Rachel calling to reduce our credit card rates (after 2 years and 200,000 complaints a month).

It costs me $.25 a minute to be annoyed. And if he wakes me up from my nap I’ll really be pi$$ed.

The “do not call” rules do not apply to government.

Weasels!

Potential Donors to Enroll America Grow Skittish
By ROBERT PEAR
Published: May 19, 2013

WASHINGTON — The Obama administration’s efforts to raise private money to carry out the president’s health care law have provoked such a strong partisan uproar that potential donors have become skittish about contributing, according to several people involved in the fund-raising program.

http://www.nytimes.com/2013/05/20/us/politics/potential-donors-to-enroll-america-grow-skittish.html?pagewanted=all

As evidence of the secretary’s fund-raising prowess, administration officials said she had secured $10 million from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation and a pledge of about $500,000 from H&R Block, the tax preparation service.

Brent Thompson, a spokesman for the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, said, “We recently approved new funding for Enroll America.” He refused to say how much, even though the foundation filed a report with the Foundation Center indicating that it had awarded a $10 million grant to Enroll America.

H&R Block plans to help low- and middle-income people apply for tax credits to pay insurance premiums under the new law. Obama administration officials said Ms. Sebelius had made a successful fund-raising pitch to the company, urging support for Enroll America.

But Gene King, a spokesman for H&R Block, said, “We have not made any decision to join any specific advocacy or other health care organization, nor reached agreement on any amount we would contribute to any specific group.”

In certain circumstances involving an almost melt-down of society, I might buy into it. Not like this though...

Contributions Listed

America’s Health Insurance Plans, the industry’s Washington-based lobbyist group, and Aetna each contributed $100,000 to Enroll America, while UnitedHealth Group Inc. (UNH), the largest U.S. health insurer by sales, has given $50,000, Pollack said.

The United Health Foundation, a nonprofit funded by the company, gave money for “a business plan to figure out how to get people enrolled” under the health law, said Matt Stearns, a spokesman for UnitedHealth. He declined to say whether Enroll America would get more money in the future from the company.

While AHIP contributed to Enroll America when it started, the insurance group hasn’t participated since, Robert Zirkelbach, a spokesman, said in an e-mail. He declined to say whether they’ll support the group in the future.

Enroll America’s 10 largest donors have all given “six figures” but not more than $1 million, Klein said.

Nonprofit health plans that have contributed include the Blue Cross Blue Shield Association, which represents 38 state health plans; Blue Shield of California; Oakland, California- based Kaiser Permanente; and CareSource, a Dayton, Ohio-based insurer that focuses on Medicaid. Non-insurer donors include The Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America, the American Hospital Association and Petach Tikva, Israel-based Teva Pharmaceutical Industries (TEVA), the world’s biggest generic-drug maker.
