The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) is such a radically left wing organization, that parents should seriously consider finding a different doctor for their child, if their Pediatrician is a member of the AAP.
The best alternative is the The American College of Pediatricians (ACP), which is a socially conservative association of pediatricians and other healthcare professionals in the United States. It was founded in 2002 as a rejection of the radical leftists agenda activities of the AP.
ACP is a group “with Judeo-Christian, traditional values that is open to pediatric medical professionals of all religions who hold true to the group’s core beliefs: that life begins at conception; and that the traditional family unit, headed by a different-sex couple, poses far fewer risk factors in the adoption and raising of children.”
Other leftist activities of the AAP include advocating for homosexual adoption; that its members ask parents and their children about gun ownership and refuse them service if they refuse to answer; stating that guns in the home are safety hazards that should be disposed of if there are children; etc. They have really sold their soul to the hard leftist agenda, and no longer care about children or medicine.
Yes, that's the first thing I look at when I read articles like this. Who is this organization and why should anybody listen to them? Often it is a case of the media doing their standard operating procedure which is, "Find some idiot who is yelling and do a story about them."
