I would, if I were the pilot, with a bunch of people on board in addition to Snowden, with no beef with the USA, just play chicken. They might radio to him, they have gone hot, “turn around, you will be shot down”, but Obama hasnt the b*lls to do it and he knows he risks impeachment for pulling such a stunt such as shooting down what will probably be a commercial airliner filled with other passengers. Nope, as the pilot, I would just keep on my sweet way to Quito and flip them the bird. In international aviation there is not a thing they can do about it. Obama would never issue the order.
Bad news to say he has laptops with him with lots more info. No doubt even Ecucador would like to mine those for useful propaganda.
Maybe he has more than one possible destination to confuse any intercept.
Tell that to KAL 007. What happened to the soviets? zip.
see my link in post 26
From the reports I’ve seen he flew commercial on each leg of the trip. Probably a smart move as making a private jet go away wouldn’t bother Obama.
What makes you so certain Obama wouldn’t have a commercial airplane shot down in another country’s sovereign airspace?
Re: “Obama would never issue the order.”
Don’t be too sure.
How many people who may have known too much about the Clinton Syndicate had airplanes mysteriously fall out from under them and crash with no survivors?
Some people are still trying to prove that TWA 800 was shot down rather than had a tank explode, but few seem to take them seriously, despite several eyewitness accounts of what appeared to be a SAM missile taking it down.
If an airliner full of people goes down in a remote area, who investigates the “accident”?
The government, right?
There was a good reason why Snowden wasn’t on that plane - he probably knew better. Then again, has anyone heard from him lately?
