I read in an article posted on FB that the rear of the car exploded, it sounded as if they were saying it exploded before it hit the tree.

It is also very unusual for a car to explode in the rear in a collision involving the front end.

Gas tank’s toward rear I assume.

Maybe the Ostapo rigged it to blow like CBS did with that Jeep on their TV special years ago.
