I see this as a coordinated two pronged attack.
The objective of the “immigration reform” prong is to regularize illegal aliens. In order to obtain this objective a token move to control the borders & ports may be offered. This token is a sop to buy votes. It will be weak, partial, temporary, virtual, and in the future. Watch for requirements to be pushed down to a commission or other administrative body rather than specified in law.
The second prong is the attack on citizenship verification. The Supreme Court just struck Arizona’s voting registration citizenship verification requirements.
States are already giving Driver Licenses to illegal aliens. This will only become more widespread and “acceptable” as a result of amnesty.
These two prongs work together to enable foreigners to register to vote and on election day produce a state issued photo-id (Driver License) and cast votes.
A vote can not be undone.
When foreigners control your government you are conquered.
Rather than control who enters the country everyone will be admitted and a Rube Goldberg process of tracking will be instituted.
Rather than control who registers to vote everyone will be registered and admitted to the process, the onus on the State to determine who is illegally registered while the State is barred from obtaining information from the applicant.
Common sense: Control the point of entry - to the country and the voting process - rather than backstop it after the fact.
Makes me think one of two things:
1). The vote was not going to be as overwhelmingly pro-amnesty as Reid tried to say it was
2). It’s all kabuki theater, arranged ahead of time by Schumer and “his republicans” to make it APPEAR they are offering a concession - that being in place. So it’s fake.
Or,,perhaps both are true....
I say NO!!! I “chirp” NO!!! Jeb says detractors are chirpers..kinda fits nicely when I’ve already been labeled a “wackobird” by the likes of McCain
But yesterday Rubio claimed that ONLY THIS amendment will "make sure that they do not leave border security up to the discretion of Secretary of Homeland Security Janet Napolitano. We don't want to leave it to Janet Napolitano to design the border plan, said Rubio, which is also the reason he gave for not supporting earlier border security measures."

Really cutesy move by Rubio to pretend he is against what Nappy and O are doing. Rubio has told many lies.
