I just went online and made a donation. It only takes 2 mintes to fill in the form and they say that a single copy of the New Testament (which they buy in bulk) is only $1.30. So a $13 donation buys them ten NT bibles to distribute!
Also, the donation lowered my blood pressure back down near where it was before I read this story.

A few weeks before the end of this school year the Gideons paid their annual visit to my granddaughter’s middle school. They were stationed on the public sidewalk at the edge of the school grounds, The kids had been told they were there and why. I saw a number of kids, especially boys accepting Bibles. Some even opened them and immediately began reading.
That’s a far cry from the day they visited my junior high some 55 years ago. Then they came into the classroom and spoke of the importance of their faith and their love for God’s word. They distributed the Bibles inside the classroom. The only complaint came from a friend of mine who thought the gentleman was tossing the books on the desks and wasn’t being respectful enough!
But hey, hand out a Koran and you’re cool!
