As my Daddy used to tell me “You can keep putting sugar on a turd, but it still doesn’t change the nature of the turd.”
These low-information voters probably haven’t figured out that the Social Security they are paying from their paychecks is being used to take care of the SS recipients now, many of them foreigners who have never put a dime into SS.
This is another example of that “redistribution” they voted for when they pulled the Democrat lever.
Dogbert the consultant,
Our goal is to scare people into buying insurance that doesn't cover anything"
The third frame suggests the plan was designed in Hell.
My bet is that it is these people dhs is worried about most.
The younger than 30 crowd that I know of are drowning in student loan debt. There is no way they will be able to afford to buy insurance. Plain and simple...they won’t buy it.
Health insurance should have NOTHING to do with employment. You should be on your own to get it, just like any other insurance. The docs saying “screw insurance” and going to cash/less paperwork/Obamacare regs are going to be the winners in the long run, as are their patients. Unless the HHS Nazis & Obamathugs decide to make any doc doing this illegal .... and they will try.
I hope all nobama supporters suffer.
But they are going to try tactics used to sell cool smart phones and Mountain Dew to try and convince them. That should be hilarious.
The unemployed/over educated lefties voted for free health care, and surprise it ain’t free.
Even before Obozo care became mandated, a lot of young working adults/couples were opting to pay cash at the doctors’s offices.
Even if they had insurance, their deductibles and co pays made a cash per office visit a better deal for them. So they cancelled their insurance, got a hospital only plan and went COD at the doctor’s offices.
There is a fast growing primary care MD shortage due to the lefties destroying our medical care. We have basically healthy young relatives with healthy children having troubles getting appointments with their doctors due to all the new free care stuff.
They are telling the doctors, they are not waiting a couple of weeks or more for appointments and then waiting hours with a lot of undesirables, who are going to a doctor’s office for entertainment and free care.. So they making their own cash deals with the doctors from semi concierge medicine to cash per visit with minimal waits to see the mds and waiting room time.
So they are opting to new cash deals and out of the herd them up medical care.

Bingo see my reply #11 about what we are seeing and hearing from the young workers not the unemployed wanting free health care.

See my tagline.
Yep, this is what I do. Pay as you go is a much better deal for doctors and for me.
“Yep, this is what I do. Pay as you go is a much better deal for doctors and for me.”
How receptive have the doctors in your area been to COD with you?
They are fine with it at least here. I’ve had my doctor for a long time, so he doesn’t really care how he gets paid so long as he gets paid.
I think I’ve been in once in 3 years, so that should tell you about how often I see him.
I think Hannity had a doctor on his radio show the other day whose practice (this doc & his partner) has gone to the concierge method of medical care with good success. I think adults are $50 a month, kids $10, seniors $100 .... unlimited visits per month. I thought Hannity was posting a link to the article, but I didn’t see it when I (quickly) looked at his website. Another doc has worked out deals with medical providers ... need an MRI? Cost is $400 vs thousands. THIS should be the medical care of the future and hopefully it will take off and attempts to make it illegal, because it isn’t Fed-run Obamadeathcare, will fail. BTW, Dr. Ben Carson is retiring within the next week or so, and is working on an alternative to Obamacare ..... hopefully, a good one. I don’t like Carson on some things, but on medicine, what I’ve heard has been good.

Out here in Californicator land, concierge medicine has been $150-$250/ month, mainly for adults.
In the past few weeks, we have heard of $850-$1000 per month in the Stanford area.
I posted about a female md, who only sees women patients, apparently going up to $20,000/year this fall. She had been getting $850 to $1,200 per month with older and sicker patients paying higher rates.
Some people have been happy with their concierge docs, and others claimed they had better care and availability with their busy fps/ims primary care docs. One woman left her fp of 30 years because he went to one day a week seeing patients. Her concierge doc didn’t return calls, shoved her off on a new FNP and basically never saw her in 6 months. She came back to her once a week doctor. She was admitted by to the local hospital by one of its ER docs for pneumonia. She was seen and treated by a hospitalist. In 3.5 days in the hospital, she never saw nor heard from her concierge doc, inspite of his office being notified by the er, hospital, hospitalist, husband, and two adult daugthers.
YMMV :-)
Ok, so a particular concierge doc isn’t earning their money - quit paying them. Folks can opt for Obamadeathcare if they think it’s a better value .... if you’re a senior, just watch out for the dirt naps that are going to be ‘prescribed’.
Rebellion in place.
