You're absolutely right about the negativity ... I posted a rant the other day about those who say things like "were screwed" and "there is nothing we can do" and stuff that suggests that we should not even try to fix / save our country.

Quite frankly the doomsayers are PISSING ME OFF. Thank G-D that our founding father had more backbone. Otherwise we would still be under British rule

The people that say America is already pissed away.. are enabling those who are trying to flush the toilet.

It would be like me getting mugged.. and in the middle of the mugging someone, such as Beck jumping in to help and maybe getting the tar beaten out of him..

and a bystander, DOING NOTHING, stands idly by and criticizes Beck for trying to help me while I’m being mugged.

America is being mugged! People need to stand up and WAKE UP!

FR used to be a place for lots of thoughtful discussion and review. Even when posters were arguing, there was a lot of “meat” and food for thought. Through reading many posts, I have moved away from a “pure Republican” to a more Christian constitutionalist” thinking. I’m grateful for the education many freepers have given me.

Now it seems 2/3 of the posts are these little one-liners, full of cynicism and negativity. Frankly it reminds me of how high school kids talk when they are trying to be “cool”. Not helpful, not educational, not inspiring.

Our country is in dire straights. We need COURAGE and CONVICTION, not negativity and cynicism.
