Should Gov. Scott Walker have pulled Portage native Scott Inglett's nomination as a student regent at the University of Wisconsin because Inglett signed a petition in 2011 to recall the Governor from office?

Walker appointed a student representative for the UW Board of Regents. It turns out the kid signed a petition to recall Walker. The kid is a Portage native and the libs are up in arms about the nomination being pulled. I voted "Yes" and encourage you to do so as well.

Is that really why Walker pulled his nomination? That does seem petty, but it also seems like a way for Dems/libs to slam Walker.

All I know about this I learned in the papers...so who knows what is true. One of the commenters on the story says the kid lied about this on the questionaire...still, who knows what’s true these days if you don’t see it yourself?

I’ll bet there is a whole lot behind this. If Walker is one thing - it’s NOT petty.

It doesn’t seem petty at all to me. This is not a ceremonial position. It is one that gives the holder he opportunity to have direct input into policy on the state university system level. We are finding out the consequences of President Bush appointing people who don’t share conservative values into key positions, particularly including Doug Shulman at the IRS, and I see no reason why Gov. walker should repeat those errors at the state level n don’t forget, the whole Walker recall thing cost the state millions of dollars, ground state government to a halt, and all see from pensions to public employees. It would an extremely poor choice in Gov. Walker’s part not to take that into account.
The only question I have is why this wasn’t uncovered during the vetting process.

Yes, pull the nomination. Teach the youth that there are consequences to political action. Liberals would surely pull it if the shoe were on the other foot.

Teach the youth that there are consequences to political actionI take it as evidence of my inferior character that I don't have the slightest compunction about eliminating a known enemy from a position of influence. This punk has tipped his hand...what are we fretting about again?
