We the tax payer should understand the space will not really be vacant...Homeland Security will take delivery on the two billion rounds of ammo, and will need a place to store it before they order another two billion rounds.

You see the gov’t is really looking out for you after-all, no worries.

The politics of replacing a building in downtown DC with a more secure building in the suburbs are simple ~ DC want those buildings full and the gub'mnt wants to put the employees in secure buildings somewhere else.

We just went through a round of that where a vast amount of office space in Alexandria was found to be insecure. The Navy department moved out to other newer buildings. All is well. In that case some of the relocations were to buildings inside DC so those powers were happy and you never heard the complaints.
