Mr. Obama's War

That buildup has been going on for some time. For the past two years, the government opposition in Syria has been getting aid from the U.S., which has smuggled surface-to-air missiles and other heavy weaponry into Syria through Turkey.

Along with arms, the U.S. has supplied fighters for the conflict, drawing mainly from al-Qaida-linked militias in Libya and elsewhere.

This operation was at the root of the attack in Benghazi, Libya, that killed the ambassador and three other Americans.

The Obama Administration has been working to cover up the facts about Benghazi not just because of the glaring incompetence of the State Department and the President, but because this Administration has secretly allied itself with members of terrorist groups that we have been fighting in Afghanistan and elsewhere, for the purpose of carving out a Middle East legacy for Obama.

There was always an opposition in Syria, but it may not have ever become a war without Obama's interference and manipulation of the "Arab Spring" wave of rebellions across Islamic territories.

The author is half right about what has been going on behind the scenes with U.S. support for “Syrian rebels” and half wrong in not admitting that it began a decade ago, covertly, in helping to engineer the creation of the “Syrian opposition” as part of “regime change” project against Assad, with participation with and similar funding and support from the same guys that got us to ally with Islamists in Afghanistan in 1979-1989 - the Saudis - a project that had us make alliances of convenience that came back and bit us in the butt - which is happening again in Syria.

What has Obama done? Continued the “line of march” on a “Syrian regime change” project begun by his predecessor, and like the west did in Afganistan in 1979-1989, waded in to a process with total blinders on.

WE might have had any number of intentions with regard to “regime change in Syria”; they have never been the intentions of those we have joined in that project & it will never be their intentions when THEY succeed.

The rest is western ignorance and foolishness.

We had to overthrow the government of Libya so we could send their weapons to Syria to overthrow the Syrian government? We had to overthrow the government of Libya so we could get the thugs in Libya to go to Syria to overthrow the Syrian government? We are fighting in Syria to hurt Iran? We are fighting in Syria to show the Russians? We are fighting in Syria because of Lebanon? If Obama can’t explain our American interest in this conflict, then we shouldn’t be in it, or, he shouldn’t be our President. He should resign. This is insanity.
