IRS scandals threaten funding for President Obama's health care law (Squeeze the IRS!)

Mounting scandals at the Internal Revenue Service are jeopardizing critical funding for the agency as it gears up to play a big role in President Barack Obama's health care law.

Obama sought a significant budget increase for the IRS for next year, when the agency will start doling out subsidies to help people buy health insurance on state-based exchanges. Congressional Republicans, however, see management problems at the IRS as an opportunity to limit the agency's funding just as it is trying to put in place the massive new law.

Republicans have been fighting the health care law ever since Democrats enacted it in 2010 without a single GOP vote. Unable to repeal the law, some Republicans hope to starve it by refusing to fund its implementation.

The IRS scandals are giving them a timely excuse.

"I think it's safe to say they're not going to get the kind of increase they're asking for," said Rep. Ander Crenshaw, R-Fla., chairman of the House appropriations subcommittee that funds the IRS.

So they’ll still get their funding just not the increase. Worthless __________s!

Yes! There are so many good reasons to end the entire program. The IRS helped to rig the November elections which means we're spending more money than the IRS will ever collect so they're really less than worthless in the money department. There just isn't a reason to keep the department and there are too many reasons to abolish it forever.

In principle, of course, the IRS is incompatible with a free society.

The only funding we need for the IRS is to send in bulldozers to level he buildings.

I really don’t want the IRS to be snooping around my medical records. I’m looking for a doctor who won’t submit my records to any other entity.

Why? So they can waste the proceeds?

Just kill it already.

Increase the IRS funding so that Fifth Amendment Lerner can continue remaining on her paid vacation.

The IRS should be burned to the ground and all administators involved should be strung up by their heels.

the IRS was rocked by revelations that agents had targeted tea party and other conservative groups for extra scrutiny when the groups applied for tax-exempt status during the 2010 and 2012 elections.

not just 'extra' scrutiny, they were asked the most impossible, stupid questions ever and I doubt any lib org had anything near the same. In fact they probably had 2 questions—

1. Do you love 0bama?

2. Do you pour as much money into his coffers as possible?

If the answers are yes, you never have anything to worry about!

Also every time they reapplied, they got different and worse questions.

There will always be a sick child who can’t get the healthcare he needs. And the Republicans will always be there to blame. Doesn’t matter to 0bama either way. He can either say the child was helped because of his policies, or his policies WOULD have helped the child, but for the mean Republicans. The victors get to write the history books, and the liberals are in it to win it. I can’t see a scenario where justice prevails and the American way is supported. Liberals are nasty, selfish creatures who fight dirty.
