When I was a kid, we lived across the street from an annoying guy. Everything he had was the best. Everything he did was the best. His family was the best. He thought he was the center of the universe. A tremendous pollyanna.

Anyway, one morning we woke up and saw that his sunken driveway no longer existed -- the retaining wall had given way and his entire front yard had slid East and his yard was now in his driveway. No way any car was getting out of his two-car garage anytime soon. Very ugly scene.

He said he was thrilled. He had wanted to redesign his driveway, you see, and this happy event now gave him the perfect opportunity to put his plans in motion. It was a great day for him.

I'm thinking Soledad is the same kind of moron.

They say that Thomas Edison had the same kind of optimistic reaction when his factory burned down.

You should be more like that neighbor. He had the right attitude and that is why he was a winner at life. Why sit on the sidelines and complain about life and be jealous of people who are more productive than you? Life hands everyone problems, but this guy figured out how to turn a problem into a solution.
