Unless you are using an old rotary dial analog phone, every kind of electronic communication is "data". Phone conversations are changed from analog to digital before they leave your phone. When it is recorded it is recorded as "data".
They are not only picking up every call on their servers, but they are storing every conversation as "data".
They have the capability of storing every electronic conversation. That is why they are building that huge data storehouse in Utah.

I have read it will have 5 Yottabytes of storage. That's 5 x 10 ** 24. That is a mind boggling amount of storage capability.

People need to quickly come to grasps with the fact that so much information about everyone is a recipe for a true and violent police state.

I wondered about that. I thought the phone calls would be digital data. But I wondered if this also included digital files of phone conversations.

And it would also be just as easy for them to pick up and record every single ‘ping’ your cell phone makes and the specific cell tower(s) it pinged off. Recording for later, or real time, reading of the exact location(s) of your uniquely identifiable cell phone at any time or over any requested period of time.
And it must comfort us all that Obamba’s operatives are the ones hiring, or approving the hiring, of each new analyst or tech.
