Contrary to popular belief, Muslims DO NOT WORSHIP Muhammad. Muslims worship "The One God" which in Arabic is Allah.

When Muhammad died in 632, Abu-Bakr (The First Muslim Caliph) is quoted as saying

"O ye men, whoever amongst you worshipped Muhammad, let him know that Muhammad is dead, and whoever amongst you worshipped Allah, let him know that Allah is Living, there is no death for Him."
