I'm also with you on stopping the state-backed pro-gay campaigning (which is in fact state-backed pro-homosexual coercion.) But this will continue as long as "gay" is described as a persecuted social minority rather than a disordered, aberrant behavior.
The two most influential organizations in Russia over the years --- the Russian Orthodox Church and the Communist Party --- both discountenanced sodomy in its various forms: the Church, as a sin and corrupting to the soul; the Communists, as a sickness and threat to the health of the the State.
Russia is in a terrible situation right now, with low birthrates leading to the thinning and emptying of vast already-underpopulated regions, and with their historic major rivals (Chinese and Muslims) poised at their southern borders East and West, and waiting for the starting pistol.
As it stands, unless the Russians revive normal, procreative marital sexuality, they will have contracepted, sterilized and aborted themselves out of existence. The buggery is just the final twitch.

I’d be amazed, but after moving to Oklahoma and seeing “conservatives” support alcohol laws that spawn weird side businesses where a few get rich at the expense of their neighbors by supporting crazy regulations and bureaucracies in the name of religion, nothing surprises me.
