That didn’t take long, now did it?
What does this article have to do with Catholics? ;)
It didn't initially. Post #3 stated that a) the SBC was "caving", b) and then added "like the Mormons", inviting comparisons between religious organizations.
My #12, in response, pointed out how the different ecclesial structures operate, and then I invited comparisons as to how each group (SBC, LDS, and RC) have behaved predictably (or not) in the political theater.
Within three minutes of my post #12, the poster of #3 responded to post #10 that c) the SBC "should be able to tell them what to do", using the example of her own Catholic bishop's authority to illustrate.
That's how Catholicism entered into it, as far as I can tell. FWIW, I see nothing wrong with a poster of one religious persuasion posting news or information about people in another religious persuasion. How about you?

I was merely stating that in our church the if the Bishop said no scouts in the parishes then there will be none. End of story. It should be the same with the Southern Baptists, but apparently it is not the case for what ever reason. So the “main church” can say “no scouts” but the individual churches may still have them if they choose. I don’t understand because I am not Southern Baptist, but then again...I won’t have boi scouts in my parish. :)
