Everyone in America should read this book as soon as possible. Especially the LIVs.

Ponder what your government is doing to you.

One of the best things about the book is its description ofhow people are brainwashed and voluntarily and happily support the Propaganda State.

One of those novels that are more interesting to talk about than to actually read.

“60th anniversary was on June 6th”

How so? It was published in 1949.

I wonder if it is still required reading, or did the schools remove this influential novel?

The Morloks are already here. Just go to the local Democrat’s Party office and look in the window...

Since only one book is mentioned, it makes your remarks special funny.

Being a progressive means never having to read a book to criticize it!

Got it.

Are you referring to me? I’ve read 1984. It’s journalistic fiction that doesn’t need to be read more than once and where a synopsis gives you the same effect as the prose. Nabokov hated it for example.

Any serious reader will find a PDF version on the internet.
But that raises an interesting point; how will Obama's "firemen" deal with PDF and kindle editions?

Nabokov wrote a far superior dystopia at around the same time (Bend Sinister). Also, Nabokov was a conservative and Orwell was a socialist.

Thinking back, I’m shocked this was required reading in high school. LOL Not anymore, I’m guessing.

Y’all need to read The Phoenix Rising series of 3 books by Johnstone. His Out of the Ashes series is great, too.
