Boy Scouts Attacked
PhilanthropyDaily.com ^ | 6/10/13 | Scott Walter

The persecution of the Boy Scouts is just one more example of how pernicious it is to argue that tax exemptions equal governmental endorsement and subsidization. Our civil society is supposed to be diverse and tolerant. If our nonprofits aren’t allowed to hold sharply different points of view, to teach their members different outlooks on life, to disagree about the best ways of life, then our nation has ceased to be free, much less tolerant or diverse.

... Amazing, isn't it, that a gay rights group is attacking the Boy Scouts in a way that the Bull Connors of Alabama never dreamt of attacking the NAACP? (Of course, it's also amazing that the first African-American President's administration has imitated Alabama segregationists by demanding nonprofits hand over their donor lists.)

Gay rights activists are trying to take away the Boy Scouts' tax exemption, as well as the tax exemption of any group that supports the Scouts. So the IRS's persecution of the Tea Party is only the beginning....

The gays keep this up they’ll leave normal people with only one last thing to do ~ not a good day to be gay when that happens.

They Boy Scouts needs to wake the heck up, and reverse their stupid vote.

Now.

Just meet again, admit you made a (massive) misjudgement, and reverse the vote.

Boy Scouts will win bigtime, from all the publicity.

As things stand right now however, they are doomed.

Once the GOP surrendered to the liberal idea that homosexuality is a basic part of a human identity rather than behavior then that fight was lost.

Now gays are considered to be the new blacks and if you oppose their actions and oppose giving them special victim minority status and protections then you are seen the same as wanting to lynch blacks.

Here's the GOP's idea of an argument :"I oppose gay marriage because my grandma told me it was wrong'

Eh. Wimps never come out ahead. It’s way past time for them to get out of all costly commitments real estate holdings and even dependence on tax exempt status and either operate from that position and or fight from that position.

You won’t see tea party nor pro life groups taking from anti constutional nor pro abort corporations and democrat coffers and then whining

No. The BSA is now seen as wimpy gay greedy uncaring of their members’ interests over the opposition

The most low information woman at my place of business saw a guy in a scout uniform and screeched ugh ‘GAY. Gross’

No. BSA showed their preference to att and the other pushy corporate interests and they prefer them. They have the money and the power, asBSA obviously thinks money is powerful and we have to accept it

Other groups who care about formation and don’t give power to money will thrive

And these guys have in not saying no tarnished it for former Eagle Scouts who are strangely silent

New less centralized groups will thrive

It’s over

I think they want to be doomed, or they don’t think the negative impact will hurt them in the long run because so many Americans now flatly endorse gaydom.

I think they told their members that they prefer gay by being ambivalent instead of strict. So members who prefer focusing on formation of young men need to let it go and go elsewhere

Let it serve as a lesson. People wanting formative centralized institutions to not bow to the pagan gods can just get a dose of reality. Wanting something in that realm doesn’t mean anything

ATT has no business taking customer money and contributing to this bit that’s what they do

Take that fact and go figure out what others are doing. Check put what the gates found. Does. At least they have their hateful endeavors cloaked in a foundation and not as part of the corporation

For BSA live by corporate interests die by them

Who needs any of them

Former Eagle Scouts who are now successful should do everything they can now to form a separate group establishing themselves as not gay nor greedy and help and mentor boys now seeking direction.

No way is the BSA not going to be seen as gay

I think what we’re looking at, is that none of the religious groups except Baptists, appear to give a cr@p about the Boy Scouts themselves.

Perhaps I’ve just been out of the program for long enough, I just have a different view of it, but I don’t think so.

People held to the Boy Scouts as an unwaivering view of right.

Boy Scouts, do you hear me?

You have been the source for many, many, many Americans throughout their most formative years - of what is right.

You under some sort of threat, abandoned that now.

Either correct your mistake, or your group is going to shrivel away to nothing.

More rapidly than any of you imagine.

The gays have been going at freedom like the feminazis did to men leading up to Monica’s blue dress.

That is because the feminazis were lesbos and gays working under cover as “women’s rights” groups to wreck families and heterosexual normalacy. Finally, real women caught on and said stop wrecking our relationships with men and using sex as a leftist political and legal axe.

They’re baaaaack. They’re here and as ugly, witchey and queer as ever.

10 I think what we’re looking at, is that none of the religious groups except Baptists, appear to give a cr@p about the Boy Scouts themselves. ...

A few other denominations have stood up to the BSA in the last several weeks = AoG (Assemblyof God), LC-MS (Lutheran Church - Missouri Synod), and PCA (Presbyterian Church in America). There will be a few Catholic and Methodist parishes to disaffiliate.

... Either correct your mistake, or your group is going to shrivel away to nothing. ...

You share the opinion of many others on FR. However, the BSA National Executive Committee announced back on 4/19/2013 that based upon the end of year 2012 total membership of 2.6 million, their worst projection showed a loss of 13% of the membership due to the new membership standard. Their best projection was a membership gain of <1%. Clearly, they reconciled that they could accept the collateral damage. BSA will continue, just like the Girl Scouts-USA has continued in spite of it having embraced cultural Marxism (lesbianism, militant feminism, anti-capitalism) 20+ years ago. It will just continue to get smaller.

BSA has been in membership decline since 1973. On top of the projected 13% loss due to the new membership standard, the gradual decline will continue. It is well known that the non-white populations have not embraced Scouting as a viable youth program for a host of reasons. The white slice of the U.S. popoulation pie chart is also getting smaller. You cannot change these demographic trends in short order.

Thanks for the additional info. I stand corrected.

Mind you I am not still in the BSA so I don’t mean to get too involved in their concerns, but I was active and involved at one time.

I am (deeply) offended by the stand they have taken. Again though I have gone my own way however, so I suppose it is none of my business anymore.

...let it go and go elsewhere...

It seems that a military turncoat made a very similar statement when appearing before Congress. He stated that anyone who strongly believed that homosexuality was wrong should to elsewhere. What a bunch of creeps we have in high places.

It used to be that when you called someone a real boy scout, everybody knew what it meant. I meant something good. You would want your daughter to marry a former boy scout. Now what does it mean?

And all of the wymins’ studies teachers are lesbians. They only take the jobs so that they can vent their endless rage at the male sex.
