‘Due process of law’ is not the issue. The issue is any laws that abridge the ‘privileges and immunities of citizens of the United States.’ That language was intended to protect the freed slaves from laws in the Southern States that, among other things, denied such persons the right to keep and bear arms.

Again, good luck making that argument. Like it or not for over 100 years its been accepted that states and cities have the right to decide who carries and who doesnt. It seems to me to be naive to think such an argument has any chance of making any impact.
