What needs to happen is all of those private church based youth groups need to come together as a single entity using the constitution and religious rights as a basis for going forward with a totally new organization. Go back to what scouting was originally intended and go further to promote and teach our God give rights including teaching them the proper use of all weapons in the right of self defense.
I made it to Life with two Merit Badges to go before Eagle. I was sidetracked by focusing on my Brotherhood in the Order of the Arrow, then life got in the way because I needed to go to work. And from there on to my enlistment in the U.S. Army where I excelled because of what I learned as an Army Brat and a Scout who almost made it all the way. The Order of the Arrow, at the time, was the very best training for a subsequent stint in the military.
So, for one who was in the Scouts both in the USA and Europe, I say those gutless “leaders” who sold out to pagan forces can Kiss My Grits.
Follow the money, gutless leaders received the corp. donations. Very small amount passed down to lower levels.
It was a joy to read your post. I often reminisce about my days is scouting and fondly remember being elected to the Order of the Arrow. My time spanned between 1957 and 1966 but I could see some not so good changes taking place back then.
Our entire troop would summer camp at Pine Grove Furnace in PA and one year we shared the camp ground with another troop. That troop’s leaders did all the cooking, cleaning, camp setup and routine chores and the boys were pretty much left with a lot a spare time they wasted on vandalism and malicious mischief. I never made Eagle but this other troop had more than you could shake a stick at and considering their lack camping skills, it was puzzling to me at that time.
This latest move by BSA is a complete betrayal of everything Lord Baden-Powell tried to impart into scouting. How can anyone take the Scout Oath and Laws seriously anymore? It is truly a sad moment.

you were enjoying the company of homosexuals who weren’t open about it, apparently you emerged unscathed. I now recognize that some of the GS leaders I admired years ago probably were lesbians but sex was never a part of Scout life and yes, learning outdoor survival was excellent prep for the military!
I would guess there will be more gays in the military than the BSA, and certainly in the schools, public and private, ministry all denominations, and in pop entertainment that saturates our culture
