The reason I asked my cheeky question is because my wife recently found out from a DNA test that she has a black ancestor. She grew up in England and looks about as Caucasian as anyone you’ve ever run into. Her black ancestor could have come over with the Romans. So I’m more than a little amused when certain people proudly proclaim their “whiteness” or racial lineage. I’d bet many people who think they’re “white” would be mightily surprised by their ancestral records going back thousands of years.
This gives a good summation of the current “science” of racial tracking.

I put science in quotations because for most of my lifetime we’ve been told by science that mankind originated in Africa (”Lucy” and all her relatives). Thus everyone on earth should have African DNA, Mitochondrial markers and Y chromosome markers.
Perhaps this science will some day quietly go the way of Phrenology, that cutting edge science of the 18th & 19th centuries
