Rubio suggests government surveillance programs here to stay

Sen. Marco Rubio said the government surveillance programs that leapt back into the news this week are subject to "intense congressional oversight," and represent a difficult balance of privacy issues and national security interests.

He also suggested they are here to stay.

"Much of what that program involves is classified," Rubio said in an interview Thursday with Florida reporters, referring to the report about NSA phone monitoring. "I'll tell you that program is part of intense congressional oversight. It's a program members are aware of and they get to review from time to time and see how it's being applied."

A member of the Intelligence Committee, Rubio hedged when asked if the phone monitoring program was being misused.

Do we need any further proof that this guy is a disaster on wheels? You've done your part to keep the Bush political machine going, Marco. Now go away.

First: reviewing the program “from time to time” is not intensive oversight.

Second: What makes these dimwit congressmen think that they are being told the truth about anything.

When he’s up for re-election, Senator Rubio may discover that he’s not here to stay, as far as his political aspirations are concerned. Marco, you’re a disappointment.

I suggest dubious is not here to stay. Rubio is headed into Linda territory at a rapid rate.

Don’t worry. The program that Congress just found out about through the press a few days ago is subject to intensive Congressional oversight.

"I'll tell you that program is part of intense congressional oversight."

If the news of the last few days is what we get after "intense Congressional oversight", maybe you folks could just leave well enough alone. We The People are getting angry enough to handle this ourselves.

As are almost all minority Republican politicians eventually. The pull of free government handouts to their “community,” along with government bullying and discrimination against the whites they hate, is too strong a pull for most minorities. Rare indeed is the Alen West or Clarence Thomas.

When he’s up for re-election, Senator Rubio may discover that he’s not here to stay, as far as his political aspirations are concerned.

"Marco Rubio" is Spanish for Charlie Crist.

If Rubio doesn't think he can win re-election as a RINO, he will become an Independent or run as a Democrat.

If he still loses, he'll take a lobbying job for a few years before running for office or taking a presidential cabinet post as a token based on ethnicity or "bipartisanship."

If this is the kind of “opposition” the GOP-e is giving to Obama’s attempted coup d’etat, there soon won’t be any elections for Rubio to worry about. Then again, maybe that’s his plan.
