We are excited to announce that Colonel Allen West (R-FL) has graciously agreed to participate in Troopathon 6: Salute our Troops! Allen West is no stranger to MAF or Troopathon, as we have had him as a guest before on previous Troopathons as well as several personal meetings and events which Colonel West attended. We are proud to bring him back for this year’s Troopathon effort!
Don’t forget Troopathon is a month-long effort to send our largest-ever shipment of care packages to the troops on the front lines of the War on Terror in Afghanistan. We still have 68,000 troops in the field and even though the numbers are drawing down, that doesn’t mean we can stop supporting the troops who are still there!

Shipment of Care Packages to Afghanistan
Colonel Allen West began his military career in 1982 joining the United States Army, but while many people are familiar with West’s military accolades, you might not know that he also holds Master’s degrees in political science as well as military history and operations. West was promoted to Lieutenant colonel in 1997 while at Camp Lejune.
In 2003 West served in Iraq where he fiercely defended and protected the soldiers under his command. West once said “If it’s about the lives of my soldiers at stake, I’d go through hell with a gasoline can.” He retired in 2004 with full honor and benefits despite some naysayers who accused him of being too aggressive with terrorist suspects. A group of 95 Congressmen wrote and signed a letter supporting West against those overblown accusations.
After retiring, Colonel West became an adviser to the Afghan National Army until 2008 when he first ran for Congress in Florida’s 22nd Congressional District, narrowly losing to Democrat Ron Klein who benefited from the coattails of Barack Obama’s popularity. Then in 2010 Colonel West defeated Klein and joined the ranks of U.S. Congress. He lost his seat in 2012 due to redistricting tricks which forced him to run in a different and unfavorable new 18th district, but despite those odds he still lost by a razor slim margin of less than 2,000 votes!
For last year’s Troopathon 5: Never Forget Our Troops, Colonel West recorded this video to be presented during the Troopathon! He has graciously agreed to participate again this year, but since Troopathon is still several weeks away watch this video Colonel West sent last year!
Colonel West continues to be a strong voice for our troops and the War on Terror, speaking out in support of the men and women fighting on the front lines, and attacking President Obama’s foreign policy blunders when they happen. He has been one of the loudest voices cautioning Americans about the dangers of radical Islam and the terrorists who adhere to their philosophy!
Our troops are serving in some of the most dangerous places to be in the world, where the Taliban and their Al Qaeda allies continue to try and destabilize a nation, to bring back a safe haven for radical Islam where extremists can train, plot, and launch attacks against the nations of the Western world, primarily the United States.
Our mission is to send care packages to support those brave troops! For as little as $25 you can send support to a Soldier, Marine, Airman, Sailor, or Guardsman serving overseas. Each package contains lots of goodies and helpful items that our troops appreciate, such as coffee, cookies, beef jerky, deodorant, wet wipes and more!
Free Republic was on the front lines when this effort began, with the founder Jim Robinson and other FR members traveling to Crawford Texas in a convoy from California to counter leftists who were denigrating the troops.History
Move America Forward was initially formed by The Honorable Howard Kaloogian and acclaimed broadcast journalist and television personality Melanie Morgan. In response to concerns raised by U.S. troops that the news media was frequently presenting inaccurate coverage that often ignored the success of their missions and accomplishments in the War on Terror.
MAF began holding rallies to support the troops where patriots could display their flags and it quickly transformed into a year round Care Package program, conducting National Bus Tours, sending delegations overseas, and working with many other Military Service Organizations across the nation like Inter-Service Family Assistance Committees, Pro Military Charities, Family Readiness Support Teams and directly with Military bases to get help support the troops.
We held a giant rally there and Move America Forward got their start.
And Please Forward To All Your Lists! I know you don't hear about this, but we actually have Soldiers fighting a war and these care packages mean the world to them. It isn't what is in the package (although since Obama cut one of their hot meals the contents of the packages mean a lot) so much as the thought behind it. Just for these very brave men and women to know you care about them and appreciate their service and sacrifice means the world to them!

This was one of Andrew Breitbart’s favorite events and I wish I was going to see him rollerblading all over the set but I have no doubt he's rollerblading all over Heaven entertaining our Fallen Heroes whom he loved so very much!
