Massachusetts Gov. Deval Patrick says he went to his rural home the day after the surviving Boston Marathon bombing suspect was captured and got "quite drunk" alone at a restaurant.
The Democrat made his comments Wednesday while visiting a Cambridge marketing firm.
Patrick says he was relieved that Dzhokhar Tsarnaev was captured on April 19 because otherwise people would have been complaining about the "shelter in place" order he gave that day, locking down Boston and several suburbs.
Maggie Merelle, co-owner of the restaurant Rouge in West Stockbridge, told the Boston Herald that Patrick had a "glass of chardonnay or two" with dinner but wasn't drunk.
Merelle told the Herald that hosting the governor that evening made her feel "like an old Jewish mother feeding him. We just wanted to nourish him."
Patrick said he had no money and couldn't pay his bill. Merelle says he eventually settled his tab.
AND he pulled a “chew and screw”.
What a loser of a human being.
When you’ve just watched your employees end a terrorist manhunt, you’ve got a hankering for a tall, frosty glass of . . . free chardonnay.
A man of high character might have gone to a house of worship and approached Almighty God in prayer, for guidance.
On the other hand, a man of lesser character might run away to a secluded spot and have a few drinks at someone else’s expense, and then later whine about it like his delicate psyche was the victim.
I love stereotypes...a drunken Irishman from Boston.
Chardonnay. Sheesh.
The funny thing is, I think he is making it up, because he thinks it sounds good.
I could imagine if I was in his position doing the same thing. But as governor, he shouldn’t be so stupid as to admit this in public. What the hell is wrong with leftist black politicians? Damn near NONE of them have a clue how to play the game.
Black Irish, that is.
Lightweight.
That's not true, he is never out of site, feel, and butt kissing range of his security.
Yes of course, he is no ginger.
Best part of the story. What a *ussy...
If you are a 2nd term president or governor of a major state, doesn't that mean you know, "how to play the game?"
Could have been worse; could have been Pouilly-Fuissé...
More like Mad Dog 20/20.
No Credit Cards either? Did your Male Escort steal your wallet?
