One of her statements (paraphrasing) was that the Baby Boomers are the first generation in the history of mankind that believed it could create a Utopian society (I recall that she pointed out that other generations understood that his was reserved for the afterlife).

Interesting take.

Quite wrong of course.

There were numerous attempts to create "heaven on earth" long before the word "Utopia" was coined. And there were a whole bunch of attempts afterwords.

So they were not the first generation nor will they be the last.
