All food has been modified. The plant that corn started out thousands of years ago was called teosinte, the ancient clovis peoples of NA developed "modern" corn over a long time.

The Indians never mated cornfields with bacterium. There’s a difference between selecting the ‘best’ plant or plants and saving seeds from those, and introducing genetic material from a bacterium into those corn plants.
