Golly gee whiz, I thought Governor Andrew Cuomo solved the "gun" violence problem with that gun bill they forced through the State legislature. What happened? What's gone wrong?

The article notes that New York's only Republican borough, Staten Island, somehow, someway avoided the wave of guns that went around shooting people. Maybe guns don't know how to take the ferry. Or the other possibility, is that Republicans infiltrated the other boroughs and shoot them up.

It's inexplicable.

Plan is working as designed.

A certain amount of gun violence will be "allowed" so as to create the demand for more gun control.

Food for further sobering thought: that percentage probably drops to under 2% when one considers it’s comprised solely of males between the ages of 14 and 25. Your guns, however, are to blame.

And this appeared in the articles comments a few minutes ago, posted by someone named “ OLDER WISER”

“That brokerage firm I mentioned that bought up as m,any gun manufacturing companies it could get it’s hands on is the Cerberus Capital Management firm.

Guess who owns the Cerberus Capital Management firm.

That would be George Soros.

“Who is buying companies that manufacture firearms?

Confirmed… Marlin Firearms is already closing it’s doors!Even if you do not own a gun, you need to know this. This needs to be spread to all gun owners and sportsman. We cannot rely on the media to report on this major issue (One line from the Cerberus Capital Management information at Wikipedia:)

Firearms – Acquired Bushmaster Firearms, Inc., from Windham, Mainenative Dick Dyke for an undisclosed sum in April 2006, and purchased Remington Armsin April 2007. Under Cerberus direction, Bushmaster Firearms acquired Cobb Manufacturing, a well-respected manufacturer of large-caliber tactical rifles in August 2007.
Cerberus also acquired DPMS Panther ArmsDecember 14, 2007.[29][30] Remington Arms acquired Marlin Firearms in January 2008.[31][32] In October 2009, Remington Military products acquired silencer manufacturer Advanced Armament Corporation.[33] These companies were combined into the Freedom Group.
For the last several years a company called The Freedom Group

has been buying-up gun and ammunition manufacturers. Some of
the companies are Bushmaster, Marlin, Remington, DPMS,
Dakota Arms and H&R. Some people worry that this Freedom
Group is going to control most (if not all) of the firearms companies
in the United States. If you control the manufacturers, you can
decide to stop selling to civilians. What a perfect way to control guns!
This will keep Obama, et al from trashing the 2nd amendment – think about that!

If you do some digging you will see that The Freedom Group is
owned by a company called Cerberus Capital Management.

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Freedom_Group
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cerberus_Capital_Management

Guess who controls Cerberus? GEORGE SOROS!! One of the most
evil men on this planet, who wants to restrict or ban all civilian guns.
Please pass this on to all your freedom-loving friends. This needs to
come out. Why have we not heard about this in the “mainstream” media?

I would think this would be BIG news. (Soros also owns Progressive Insurance)

If you don’t know who George Soros is, you need to do some research. He backed and IS BACKING Obama with millions of dollars and Obama is a puppet on a string controlled by Soros.

Send this to every gun owner in America! “

Any FReepers aware of this?

bringing the total number of bullet-riddled in the city to 25 in less than 48 hours.

Since they are all "bullet-riddled" I assume the victims were all shot by guns with high capacity magazines on full auto?

(Sorry, journalistic nit picking)

Detroit gets the label but if you were to make a distinction (which law enforcement doesn’t do) between homicide/shootings and justifiable homicide/defensive shootings, I suspect things would look quite different. Detroit is an open or concealed carry city.

Houston has a higher murder rate (9.97 per 100,000) than New York (5.05), and a higher overall crime rate too (992.53 vs. 639.29). Not that New York’s fascist gun control laws have anything to do with it, but NYC is now one of the safer big cities in the country (and world).

Those cities may have the largest number of murders, but that's not a relevant comparison. New York City has ~8.5 million people, more than double the next-largest city (LA, with ~3.9 million), so of course the total number of murders will be higher here.

The relevant comparison is the per capita rate of murders.

I’m not saying they weren’t gun murders. My point is that comparing the raw number of murders is meaningless. The relevant comparison is the per capita murder rate.

Murder or not, you are simply wrong that the violent use of guns is higher in New York than in other cities. Again, while there may be more incidents in New York than elsewhere, that comparison is meaningless, as New York has more than twice the population of any other US city. The more relevant comparison is the per capita RATE of violent use of guns, which is actually quite low in NYC, as compared with other cities.

I guess you missed when I corrected myself
“After further review NYC was NOT in the top

and the point, ONE MORE TIME , is not about murders it is about leftists thinking stricter gun laws prevent or even cut down on the use of guns by criminals

If you don’t get that then just move on, I can’t explain it any further to you
