A DEMOCRAT gave him permission to run against the Kenyan.
A candidate who actually satisfied the Constitutional requirements to hold the job wouldn't need permission from the opposition party to run.
Yes yes, you are right, it was Will Rogers!
thanks
No, that is NOT the law.
Not all “US Citizens” are eligible to be President.
only “natural born citizens” are eligible.
The founders deliberately restricted eligibility because they were afraid that persons still loyal to the Crown could take charge of the fed govt and thus render their revolution moot.
The way things were measured in those days, you were presumed to have the citizenship and loyalty of your parents, particularly your father. Having your parents born in USA was a (admittedly somewhat rough) means of helping assure that your loyalties would be to America and not the Crown or Canada or Cuba or Kenya or Indonesia...
don’t misunderstand me, I think Cruz looks pretty good so far....but with a Cuban daddy and with Cruz himself born in Calgary, he’s not what we need to follow up on Mr. Kenya’s reign... nor is he quite what our founders had in mind for the job.
it remains true that we are largely a ‘nation of immigrants’ but.. .we need to check these people... especially, as you note, the ones coming here from Islamicist countries...
instead, our WashDC govt has been deliberately importing them... some, or many, without checks at all who they really are or what their intentions are for coming here.... as when our State department gives the American visa-granting power to the Saudis (if you wrote a novel with that as a plot the publisher would suggest you commit yourself to a mental asylum)
"I've heard more from Bush, asking for my advice, than I've heard from Obama," my sources quoted Clinton as saying. "I have no relationship with the president -- none whatsoever. Obama doesn't know how to be president. He doesn't know how the world works. He's incompetent. He's an amateur! The first black president, giving his opinion about the first half-black president.
If Obama wants to save his Presidency he can pin the IRS and Homeland stuff on the Clinton machine... then fire all of 'em.
Te RNC will surely choose someone who has zero chance of winning. They will never choose someone who could accidentally win.
strange, isn’t it?
(and what impact are the Republican party primary votes?)
Rand Paul is a waste of time, his toupee is more electable. As an Amnesty Traitor, Rand will likely not be able to hold the KY Senate seat he squeaked into in the first place.
oh I see. Well, I really like Bachmann and there are several more possible candidates that look pretty good, too ...
Palin is impressive but I fear the mass media has done a super hatchet job on her? I’d sure get behind her candidacy if she were nominated.... As for the guys, I don’t know if j. Bolton would run but he makes tons of good sense... Frankly, I am not a big political activist and don’t know a lot yet, like many posters here on FR already seem to do.... about a few of the potential candidates ... so I won’t claim my ideas carry much weight now. Just that the R party needs to nominate somebody credible of course... and get behind its candidate a lot better than it did the last 2 times. Having millions of your voters sit the election out at home without casting even a single ballot (when the D candidate had many supporters, including corpses in Chicago of course, casting multiple ballots we’re told) .. .sitting at home and not voting is not a particularly effective winning strategy
