Is it “fat” or BMI-based?

I’m morbidly obese per BMI but have between 10-13% body fat at any given time. (I am very muscular.)

I am sure it will be BMI, which is a meaningless measurement.

Higher Premiums for Fatness

These higher premiums will be used to offset the cost of the food stamps that are making these people fat to begin with.

IF YOU WANT TO DO SOMETHING ABOUT FATNESS, THEN STOP GIVING FOOD STAMPS TO FAT PEOPLE!!!

So people with undesirable traits will be forced to participate in "wellness programs" or face much higher insurance rates. And I'll just assume those wellness programs are paid for by the insurance we all pay.

It's really none of the government's damn business to identify and punish smokers, overweight people, whomever else they deside is an "undesirable". Doesn't this mean that if one has Obamacare, the feds get to check everyone for obesity, smorking, or whatever else they choose to demonize people for?

Anyone who doesn't pay to stay out of Obamacare becomes a government slave.

“....up to 30% for overweight individuals....”

.
Does that inlude the many overweight food stamp recipients?

Modelling the impact of HIV disease on mortality in gay and bisexual men.

CONCLUSION: In a major Canadian centre, life expectancy at age 20 years for gay and bisexual men is 8 to 20 years less than for all men. If the same pattern of mortality were to continue, we estimate that nearly half of gay and bisexual men currently aged 20 years will not reach their 65th birthday. Under even the most liberal assumptions, gay and bisexual men in this urban centre are now experiencing a life expectancy similar to that experienced by all men in Canada in the year 1871.

Medical Downside of Homosexual Behavior

“Two extensive studies appearing in the October 1999 issue of the American Medical Association’s Archives of General Psychiatry confirm strong link between homosexual sex and suicide, as well as a relationship between homosexuality and emotional and mental problems.”

High cholesterol can be genetic. That should make for some interesting court cases.

“The new regulations does allow for discrimination in these areas, including higher premiums for individuals with high blood pressure or high cholesterol.”

Seriously? Considering I have BMI of 23, work out daily, have extremely low blood sugar, triglicerides, and low blood pressure, I also have the cholesterol from hell.

Mine is closing in on 500 after a vegetarian diet and more exercise. I can’t take statins - rhomboydlysis so I have Welchol which is pretty useless.

All said, I have a genetic predisposition to high cholesterol.

The Government is going to impose punitive taxes on me because of my DNA?

Let’s see where this lands in court because I will spoil for a fight.

“FOX NEWS: The Department of Health and Human Services has issued regulations for the Affordable Care Act, otherwise known as Obamacare, which allow health insurance companies to raise premiums up to 50% for smokers and up to 30% for overweight individuals—unless they participate in “wellness programs” provided by HHS. “

Wow. Just like the compulsory exercise in “1984”.

Teenage unwed mothers are also a high risk group as far as hypertension, obesity etc down the road, managing gun shot wounds from gangbangers is expensive, there are some places that would meaningly save health insurance/government plans money, but would of course be politically incorrect. Some groups cant be asked to improve their behavior

At the risk of invoking Godwin's Law:
21. The State must raise the level of national health by means of mother-and-child care, the banning of juvenile labor, achievements of physical fitness through legislation for compulsory gymnastics and sports, and maximum support for all organizations providing physical training for young people.

The Department of Health and Human Services has issued regulations for the Affordable Care Act, otherwise known as Obamacare, which allow health insurance companies to raise premiums up to 50% for smokers and up to 30% for overweight individuals--unless they participate in "wellness programs" provided by HHS...so I'm just wonderin' - since the government can now require people to follow certain practices because they're paying for health care, and theoretically those practices help reduce the need for future care and thus save the taxpayer money, can the government now require any female who has had more than one child for which the government has to provide financial support to be sterilized on the likelihood that she'll continue to have such children which will penalize the taxpayers - would go a long way to reducing welfare and healthcare costs.....
