It is not surprising that Huma gravitated towards this organization when she left Saudi Arabia to attend college in the United States.Huma also carried out her parents’ work. She served as an assistant editor for the IMMA’s Journal of Muslim Minority Affairs for twelve years, leaving shortly before she joined Hillary Clinton’s State Department in 2009. Her brother Hassan Abedin and sister Heba Abedin still serve in that capacity.
