OOOPS! As far as the Sodomite theme of this article as far as the Boy Scouts the battle is over the Sodomites have won. They have not won due to any intrinsic worth, that they have never had nor will they ever have; but due to our Society’s inability to effectively resist.

The isntruction to tur n the other cheek is one ot ‘suffer any assault that can reasonably be born, or rather reasonably be endured, FOR THE SAKE OF PEACE- however, soemtimes the attack is so aggregious and potentially harmfull that we must protect ourselves for the sake of others (more on that below)
The turn the other cheek is meant to remind us NOT to return evil for evil- our natural instinct when wronged is to ‘get them back’ and we often plot how to do so- Christ wants us instead to pray and ask God how we can be a blessing to that person- to bring an act upon them where that person has to turn to us so that we can lend them without expectign return, clothe them if they need it, etc- In regards to shall we ALWAYS turn the other cheek and not defend ourselves- the answer is NO- We are commanded by God to resist evil
Gill’s commentary puits it this way
“Not but that a man may lawfully defend himself, and endeavour to secure himself from injuries; and may appear to the civil magistrate for redress of grievances; but he is not to make use of private revenge.”
or rather- ‘I’m not sayign that a man can’t lawfully defend hismelf, and strive to keep himself from bodily injury, nor that he can’t take the other person to court...but...”
Jesus confronted the soldier who struck Him He didn’t passively shrug His hsoudlers and say “Whatever- I’m not to resist”
I see this verse of ‘turn the other cheek’ thrown in the faces of Christians all the time as though Christians are NOT to defend themselves- and it’s important that the meaning of God’s word be clearly udnerstood- I also see the verse “Judge not lest ye be judged” thrown in our faces too especially when it coems to hte gay agenda- however God DOES expect us to judge, and even commands us to test the psirits and see if they be of God or not- and the verse is NOT talkign abotu what unbeleivers woudl like to think it is speaking of- because hte verse APPEARS to suppoort their sinful agendas-

No- you have a directive by God to be the protector of your family and of yourself too because you are the provider and have an obligation to them to remain capable of providign for them so you have an obligation to protect yourself agaisnt bodily harm for their sake
